The Model African Union (MAU) Bayreuth e.V. is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the 2026 conference, hosted at the University of Bayreuth from April 9th–12th.

This year’s session centers on the theme:

“Pathways to Women’s and Youth Empowerment: Building Inclusive Institutions and Shifting Norms for Sustainable Development.”

As a premier academic simulation of the African Union, the conference offers students a rigorous platform for diplomatic discourse and policy drafting. Participants will engage in interdisciplinary research, negotiation, and public speaking to address the continent’s most pressing socio-economic and political challenges. In addition to the committee sessions, the four-day program includes expert-led workshops and panel discussions designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and international relations practice.
