Die gesellschaftlichen Formen der Sinnkonstitution und der Bestimmung von Wirklichkeit hängen von den Formen ab, in denen Wissen zirkuliert und sich verfestigt. Im Kolloquium diskutieren wir Ansätze, die sich den theoretischen Perspektivierungen und den aktuellen Herausforderungen durch Verzerrungen, KI und gesellschaftliche Strömungen der Veränderung von Wissen und Wirklichkeitsbestimmung widmen.

Die Vorträge finden auf Deutsch bzw. Englisch statt und werden durch eine anschließende Diskussion und ein Get-together abgerundet.

How societies constitute meaning and define reality depends fundamentally on the ways in which knowledge—and what is socially constructed as such—circulates, stabilizes, and becomes legitimized. Communicative forms and processes shape social realities by creating and maintaining the interpretive framework through which we think, argue, act and operate. This colloquium series brings together contributions that engage with theoretical and empirical perspectives on knowledge, meaning, and reality. It addresses contemporary challenges such as digitalization, artificial intelligence, fake news, and conspiracy theories that are reshaping regimes of knowledge and practices of reality-making. The lecture series offers a forum for critical discussion across disciplinary boundaries and invites reflection on both classical and emerging approaches in the social sciences.

Lectures will be held in German and English, followed by an open discussion and an informal get-together.
