2 November 2026
On 27 October 2026, we officially launched the new Conflict, Crisis, and Change (C³) Research Center at the University of Bayreuth. The event featured a recap of the Center's foundation by the C³ Director Prof. Dr. Jana Hönke and a welcome address from University President Prof. Dr. Stefan Leible.
In an interdisciplinary roundtable, moderated by PD Dr. Julia Eichenberg, the panelists discussed what disruption means, how it shapes conflict dynamics and outcomes, and whether it offers new perspectives on temporality, change, and the open-endedness of history. The panelists were Prof. Dr. Nina Nestler (Criminal Law), Prof. Dr. Jana Hönke (Sociology in Africa/International Relations), and Prof. Dr. Joschka Philipps (Sociology of Insecurity and Uncertainty). The evening concluded with a reception.
