DFG-funded research project "Practices of Legitimation by companies and NGOs in Kenya/Tanzania"

The position is within a DFG-funded research project that deals with non-state legitimation through the practices of NGOs and corporate actors (typically through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts), with a particular focus on Chinese actors. Empirically, the project will analyse the multiple dynamics of legitimation practice, historicized, and empirically grounded within local contexts rather than international boardrooms in selected sites in Kenya and Tanzania. Methodologically, our approach is bottom-up, bringing 'ethnographic sensibility' to expound the situated, iterative nature of contemporary legitimation.

The position is to start 1st September 2023 and is limited to 3 years. The remuneration is based on pay group 13 TV-L (65%).
