Lecture on Transgenerational Experiences of Anti-Semitism (26 November)
November 26, 2025
Current experiences of anti-semitism have a lasting impact on the lives of Jewish people in Germany. Especially the long-term psychological consequences of the Shoah (Holocaust), which continue to affect the descendants of survivors today, often remain invisible and difficult to fully comprehend for those who are not directly affected. These consequences can play an important role in transgenerational reactivations.
This topic will be discussed by Professor Dr. Sarah Yvonne Brandl (Frankfurt am Main) in her lecture „vom weitergeben im sprechen und schweigen – Antisemitismuserfahrungen transgenerational“. She will provide insights into a group-analytic project with descendants of the “third generation” of Shoah survivors.
The event is part of the lecture series „Dynamiken des Antisemitismus II“ and will take place on Wednesday, 26 November, at 18:00 c.t. at the Iwalewahaus der Universität Bayreuth (Wölfelstraße 2, 95444 Bayreuth).
Admission is free; registration is not required. The lecture will be held in German.
