Anthropology Lecture Series: Alice Wilson on Women, Revolution, and Inequality in Post-War Oman
June 16, 2026
Tuesday, 16 June 2026 | 6:15 pm | FZA, Room S145/146 & online via MS Teams
As part of the Anthropology Lecture Series "Global Inequalities", Alice Wilson (University of Sussex) will ask what became of the women who took part in the Omani revolution – and why this question remains politically contested to this day.
Her talk, "What happened to the women from the revolution?' Contested inequalities and the retrieval of revolutionary agency in post-war Oman", examines how women's revolutionary agency is remembered, claimed, and renegotiated in post-war Oman.
Students and all interested parties are warmly welcome. Further information and the Teams link here.
